Common Automation Testing Tools in 2024

SpiraTeam can manage your automated test scripts as well as your manual test cases. Using our RemoteLaunch technology, SpiraTeam can launch automated test scripts using a variety of functional and performance test tools, both commercial and open-source.

Why is Choosing the Correct Automation Tool Important?

There are many automation testing tools available. Some of these automation tools were created long ago, while others have just entered the market. Each tool is unique and possesses specific characteristics. This broad range of test automation tools makes it difficult to select the best one for a project, and often testers end up with tools that don’t conform to project requirements. Because of this, doing the research and trying the tool before choosing is very important.

Features to Consider When Choosing a Test Automation Tool

For an automation tool to have any chance of long-term success, it must solve pain points. You should consider the following test automation tool features and capabilities:

  • Smart Element Locators
  • Conditional Waiting
  • Control Structures
  • Easy Assertions
  • Modification Without Redo
  • Reusable Steps
  • Cross-Browser Support
  • Reporting
  • Ability to Insert Code
  • Continuous Integration
