import from QC: requirement tree

Hi,

we intend to migrate from QC 10 to Spirateam.

When importing a QC project into spirateam, the requirement tree is kind of messed up.

QC contains following tree:
Root
  - Folder A
    - Subfolder AA
      - req A
      - req B
    - Subfolder AB
  - Folder B
   ...

this results in following tree in spirateam

- Folder A
    - Subfolder AA
      - req A
      - req B
- Subfolder AB <== this went up 1 level, in fact all subfolders except the first go up 1 level.
- Folder B

is this due to the spirateam import tool or the way we handle requirements in QC or something else?

thx
Filip

This is because it sounds like you're using a newer version of QC than 9.0 (which is what the importer was built for). The importer does work fine with newer versions than 9.0 but you may need to manually adjust the hiearchy post-import.

We shall be releasing a newer version of the importer specifically for newer versions of QC later this year.

Hi,

when would the new QC importer be released?
we use indeed QC10 now. Correcting the requirements tree manually is not an option, we have more than 1000 requirements and the tree is very messed up.
This kind of blocks us to actually start using SpiraTeam...
