Our requirements have a custom selection filter that specifies type of Requirement Documents (User Needs, Functional Requirements, Regulatory and so on).
When generating a standard Requirements Detailed Report I can choose the Req Type (or, more precise, Document type) and generate the required document.
However, we are using ESQL to generate a specific format of the report and the selection is no longer available.What is the way to invoke report generating filtering with custom ESQL?

I'm afraid that is not possible at present. You can filter by Release only for custom (ESQL) reports. Standard sections that have customized XSLT can have the custom field filters.
Another option coming soon is support for ODATA that will let you run custom reports in other tools such as PowerBI and Excel.

Looks like we would have to create a special kind of reports in ESQL - one for each type of a document.
I was hoping to avoid that.
Yep, I am waiting for these features too.
Moreover the option that support suggests (use BI tool and Odata) is available only for SpiraPlan version that is more expensive than SpiraTeam.
