Exporting Test Step Properties with Test Results

Hello!

Let me preface this by saying that I'm really new to the reporting functionalities of Spira and have 0 coding knowledge so the admin guide section on reporting was pretty heavy for me, apologies if I lack information/details needed to resolve this.

Background Info:

We have created a custom property associated with test steps (named weight) which gives a numerical weight to each test step, we are hoping to use these weights to determine a "Pass/Fail" threshold for our manual smoke tests.

Question:

Is there a way to export a test run's results to include the following?

  • Test Case
  • Test Step
  • Custom Property (Weight)
  • Result (Pass/Fail/etc)

Moreover, do you have a super remedial/"Teaching your grandma" level tutorial on Spira reports? Hoping to learn more on the side to avoid reaching out here whenever I hit a wall.

Thank you in advance,

Ash

Hi Ash

Before you delve into custom reporting.

Did you try running the built-in Test Case Detailed report?

It should have test step level information included.

Hi David,

Thank you for the quick reply, I have tried using the built-in Test Case Detailed report but I could not find a way to include the custom property we created in the report.

We are really just looking to export the most recent smoke test run with the data test case names, test steps, result, and the custom property  for each step into excel so that we can run some calculations on our side.

Thanks for your help!

Hey!

Just wanted to bump this thread as I have not resolved this issue on my own yet.

Thank you in advance for your help.
