The system will sum these up to the parent requirement so that this 'bottom-up' estimate can be compared with the original top-down estimate - Task  Remaining Effort  = the amount of time during development left to complete the task (updated by the developer during development) - indicates the % complete    - Task  Actual Effort  = the amount of time taken by the develop (so far) in completing the task.
