(Thread)

We currently find the Project Group functionality, which was added relatively recently, to be potentially very useful. Are there plans for much expansion in this area? To give a bit of background; we currently create a SpiraTeam project for every new project we begin to work on. Depending on scope, a project may relate to multiple products and/or there may be multiple projects relating to the same product. We also have a project for each product we maintain which is used for managing regression test cases and non-project specific incidents. The Project Group allows us to group projects together which will become a test and eventual release package. Member projects may change overtime, so this flexibility is good for us to concurrently work on projects which may or may not be released together. Although currently it is just a dashboard, here are a few additions we would like to request to help support our project workflow, assuming there are plans to expand functionality: Add a given project to multiple groups (e.g. for Product Regression Projects which would be reused in multiple project groups). Currently we can only set a project to be associated with a single project group Combined Requirement, Test Case and Incident lists/creation/editing for all Projects in a Project Group. Creation of items would require an extra step for selecting which project to assign it to. This would allow users with access to the projects to maintain these items across projects from a single location. Link to Project Group page uses the ID from the project you are accessing it from, this could do with being an ID related to the Project Group. Currently, if you bookmark the link and then remove the Project from the Project Group it then goes to the group the project has been reassigned to (or errors if the new group does not allow the user access). It would make sense that the Project Home Group URL is based on the Project Group rather than the Project you are accessing it from.

<a10:contributor><a10:email>support@inflectra.com</a10:email></a10:contributor><a10:id>http://www.inflectra.com/kronodesk/forums/threads</a10:id>

Are there plans for expanding Project Group functionality?

We currently find the Project Group functionality, which was added relatively recently, to be potentially very useful. Also the issue with the URL for Project Groups is a good catch and it has been logged as a high-priority change request.

<a10:updated>2011-03-16T16:42:19-04:00</a10:updated>

It would be very useful to be able to manages users and roles on the group level.

It would be very useful to be able to manages users and roles on the group level.

<a10:updated>2011-03-18T09:38:18-04:00</a10:updated>

You can do that partially.
