Inflectra Customer Forums: Modify Test Case during execution from Test Set (Thread)We have several Test Cases attached to a Test Set. We execute from the Test Set. During the course of running the Test Cases we find that one of the Test Cases is missing a Test Step. We want to be able to correct this (add the missing step) in the window where we are executing the Test Case (from the Test Case attached to the Test Set) and have the changes saved to the Test Case. Can this be done? If not, what is the recommendation for completing and saving this type of change?en-US(C) Copyright 2006-2024 Inflectra Corporation.support@inflectra.com/Computers/Software/Project_Management//Computers/Software/Quality_Assurance/KronoDesksupport@inflectra.comhttp://www.inflectra.com/kronodesk/forums/threads120/Support/Forum/spirateam/issues-questions/363.aspxthreadId=363Janet McKee (janet.mckee@windstream.com)Modify Test Case during execution from Test SetWe have several Test Cases attached to a Test Set. When executing a test case (making it a test run), my understanding is that effectively a 'snapshot' of the test case is taken when you click on 'execute' - so can only make changes for the next test run of the test case. When executing older test cases, the content needs to be updated continuously We miss this too !! When executing older test cases, the content needs to be updated continuously. This change is typically only seen during execution. If it is not possible to update the test case during execution, we have to read and update it before executing it. This takes more time (and time is always the limiting factor in testing teams). What I need: testers (everybody or via role permissions) able to: - edit test step description and expected field - add a step even during execution - remove steps during execution thanks for considering this change in the next version. You will make many of your users happy. One option is to add an Exploratory Testing feature, where you start with an empty test case and end up with a test case that is passed. Keep us all posted about how this progresses in your internal discussions. I would definitely use this feature. A.
