Hi, we are evaluating SpiraTest, and our QA manager would like to create our features and user stories in some formalized structure such as Gherkin. Ultimately, we are looking to automate, most likely via a keyword framework such as Google Robot. Does anyone have real experience using these tools and methodologies together, and could share resources, ideas, or experiences in how SpiraTest can best be used to support such a methodology? Thank you.

Hi David You can use SpiraTest to store structured keywords either by using the existing three Test Steps columns: Description Expected Result Sample Data Or you could add custom fields to the test steps to capture specific data elements that you could programmatically read using our SOAP or REST API to get the data to generate the automated Gherkin/Robot scripts. In terms of using our SOAP or REST services, please check out: https://www.inflectra.com/SpiraDemo/Services/v4_0/ImportExport.aspx (SOAP) https://www.inflectra.com/SpiraDemo/Services/v4_0/RestService.aspx (REST) The REST API doesn't have all of its functions implemented yet, but in v4.2.0.6 that will be released later this week, all of the functions will be available in both APIs.
