(Thread)

Hello, we are 3 partners who want to test the same software with SpiraTest. The software is not always identical. For the small differences we want to create several test steps or test cases. For identical tests, we also want to use only one test step or test case. With a property Applies to we want to mark the test steps and test cases for the partners . We hope to be able to filter on this property when creating a test run (see the picture) and the unmarked elements (test steps oder cases without x) are not used. But thats not how it works. Is that the wrong idea? I think that should be a typical test constellation, right? What are we doing wrong? What would be the right way?

<a10:contributor><a10:email>support@inflectra.com</a10:email></a10:contributor><a10:id>http://www.inflectra.com/kronodesk/forums/threads</a10:id>

Create test runs by filtering by custom properties?

Hello, we are 3 partners who want to test the same software with SpiraTest. I dont think this is the solution I was hoping for because we already do a lot with linked test steps. We would like to create a test series for all partners, which also includes the small differences. But without filtering we need 3 test series. Is it correct that the test runs are the basis for the reports? Wouldnt it then also be possible to create 3 different test runs for 3 different reports based on a test set by filtering? Or is it possible that we have misunderstood the philosophy of SpiraTest? Thank you for your offer of direct support. Do you pershaps also have German support? I think maybe our English is not good enough to describe the problem (thanks to Google for translating). Ill discuss this with our admins.

<a10:updated>2022-11-16T07:09:44-05:00</a10:updated>
