(Thread)

Is there an easier way other than using drag and drop to reorder steps in a test case? I have a lot of steps and it is taking a lot of time, to drap and drop, often they do not drop in the location I want. Im looking for an option where I can right click on the step and move to step 2 for example. Occassionally during a manual execution of a large test case, I have found some steps are in the wrong order, too late to change unless I stop and start again. It is very frustrating.

<a10:contributor><a10:email>support@inflectra.com</a10:email></a10:contributor><a10:id>http://www.inflectra.com/kronodesk/forums/threads</a10:id>

Looking for an easier way of reordering steps in a test case?

Is there an easier way other than using drag and drop to reorder steps in a test case? Unfortunately there isnt a move to step X right-click option yet, but there are a couple of ways to make it easier: Use the step renumbering tool (if available in your version) - it lets you clean up the sequence after making quick edits. Split very long test cases into smaller, more logical sections; it reduces how often you need to reorder steps during execution. Edit in the grid view (if your setup supports it) - it tends to be more stable than dragging inside the execution window Its not perfect, but these small tweaks usually save a lot of time. Hopefully theyll add a direct move to position feature in a future update.

<a10:updated>2025-12-11T13:23:59-05:00</a10:updated>
