Is it a known issue that attachments cannot be searched for using the global search? I understand that it is likely a big task to search through the text of an attachments, but I also cannot find a document by searching for its ID or name. Currently the global search only searches the name and long description fields of items in the system, it does not search the contents or name of any attached documents. The ability to find documents by name/description/tags is planned for the shorter-term whereas searching the body of the actual documents will be further out. You can go to Project Home > Documents and use the name/description/tag filter to search documents on that page.
