Spira v7.13 Released: Audit Tracking of Product Membership Changes

16-Apr-2024 by Inflectra Product News

We are pleased to announce the release of the latest version (v7.13) of our award-winning test management SpiraTest system, application lifecycle management SpiraTeam platform, and enterprise agile planning platform - SpiraPlan. This new version includes additional audit tracking functionality that adds tracking of product membership changes to the product and system history audit logs.

Product Membership Audit Tracking

As part of our efforts to enhance the auditability and traceability of administrator activities, every change to product membership (adding a user, removing them, changing roles) is now tracked in both product history and system history.

For example, if you go to the product membership administration page:

You can add new users to the product, remove existing users and change the roles of existing users. If make such changes, the membership would now look like:

Previously there would be now way to see the changes that were made, who made the changes, and when they were made.

With the new product membership audit tracking, you can see that in the product history change log:

You can click on one of the Modified items and see what the change was:

To make it easier for system administrators to see the changes across all the products, it is also available in the system history change log as well:

Similarly, you can drill down on a specific change, to see more details:

What's Planned Next?

This is just one piece in the larger stream of work related to audit tracking. As part of our product roadmap, we will be adding additional audit tracking of key administrative tasks in upcoming releases, specifically:

  • Provide audit tracking of changes made by administrators to product roles.
  • Provide audit tracking of changes made by administrators to users.

Furthermore, for general users, we are also extending the baselining audit tracking to include the following additional association types:

  • Associations between risks and requirements
  • Associations between risks and test cases
