Article Test-Scripts suddenly moving/clicking at false locations

by Adam S on Wednesday, September 12, 2012

If you have your browser zoom set to a value that is not 100% when recording or playing back scripts it will affect the playback reliability. Specifically Rapise will click/move at/to false locations in the test browser. You need to set your browser zoom to 100% before doing any playback/recording activities.

For example, a script should that should click at x=3,y=3 (DoClick(3,3) and DoClick() was used) will end up clicking at a horizontal and vertical offset from the button if you have a different zoom.

Changing the zoom varies by browser and version, but in most cases it can be found in the View or Tools menu.

  • In Internet Explorer it's set in the status bar at the bottom.
  • In Firefox click ALT on the keyboard, then go to View > Zoom > Reset Zoom.
