Article Certain Hyperlinks won't click during playback with Internet Explorer (IE)

by Adam S on Tuesday, March 1, 2016

Sometimes when you record a test script using IE and then play it back, some of the clicks on hyperlinks will not playback correctly. Rapise will list them as Passed, but the click won't actually be performed.

If you experience this issue using Internet Explorer, we have found two different things that can fix the issue (depends on the operating system and the IE version):

First solution:

  1. Open up Internet Explorer
  2. Click on Tools > Internet Options
  3. Click on the Security tab:

  1. Choose Trusted Sites from the list of zones
  2. Click on the [Sites] button
  3. On the screen that is displayed:

  1. Add the website(s) being tested to the list of sites
  2. Restart Internet Explorer

The tests should now playback correctly. If not, try . . .

Second solution:

  1. In Rapise, open up the Internet Explorer HTML browser profile. (Options -> Tools -> Browser Profiles.)
  1. Set Default Click Mode to "click".
