Hi,

my components:

VisualStudioToolsOffice8.0.exe
Office2003PIA.msi
MsOffice2003AddInsSetup.msi

My workflow:

- install the components
- open the SpiraImportTemplate.xls and clear Testcase worksheet.
- connect to the Live System and import from Spira.

at this time, anything is fine.  i get the data.

Now i edit a testcase (only Testcasename) and Teststep data (Teststep Desc. and Exp. Result)

Clicking "export to spira" doenst give an error   (Import/Export of 3 rows sucessfully completed)

When i opened the live system and look at this case:
- The Testcasename is changed
- Teststep Desc and Exp Result arent changed.

Are they any workarounds?

thanks a lot

Hi Niels

What version of SpiraTest / SpiraTeam are you using? If you're using v3.0 it won't work because there is a known issue in the v3.0 web service API whereby the importer gets into a concurrency condition trying to update the test case and test steps at the same time. If you're using v2.3.1 it might actually work.

We shall be fixing it in our v3.1 release of the system.

Hi there,

thank you for the fast reply!

We are actually using  following version:

Copyright (C) 2006-2010, Inflectra Corporation | SpiraTeam v2.3.1 (021)

You are using the correct versions. How long is the text in the Expected Result and Test Step Description fields? Is it being truncated when it downloads from SpiraTest?

Hi

When will v3.1 become available?

We are using Excel 2007, so I assume v2.3.1 will work with this version?

Version 3.1 should be available in mid-April, 2011.

You cannot use v2.3.1 of Spira with the Office 2007/2010 Add-In, you would need to upgrade to v3.0 of Spira. Only the Office 2003 Add-In works with Spira v2.3.1.
