Objects recreated every time record is run

Is there a way to stop Rapise from creating new objects every time you record?

Example... the first time you record it creates the objects for the elements on the screen.  You then record again to get the next part of the script and a second set of identical objects are added to the object file, this time with a 1 on the end of their name.  You have to then delete all these objects and update the recorded script to use the original objects.

Hi Amanda

In general it will only record new objects if Rapise thinks the object is different to the last one, depending on the technology being used (Web, .NET, WPF, Java), each object is uniquely associated with a 'Locator' which maps the object to the physical application. If the locator is different, it will create a new object when Rapise "sees" the object.

You can always delete the duplicate objects and then adjust the script post-recording worst case.

Jim
