We are using SpiraTeam to list out the different levels of requirements (ConOps ==> System Requirements ==> Software Requirements).

A new custom field was used to specify the type of requirement (e.g. Business need, conop, system, software, component, etc.)

The associations are being done between the different levels of requirements based on the requirement heirarchy. However, when I output a report its hard to see the traceability.

  • The requirement from the conops shows the trace to the system requirements
  • The requirement from the system requirement shows the upward trace to the conops and the downward trace to the software requirement
  • The requirement from the software requirement shows the upward trace to the system requirement.

How can you get a report out of the tool that just shows one direction of traceability? Thank.

Hi Melissa

You would need to modify the Report definition to filter out just the data you want. I would recommend submitting a help desk ticket to get support with this in more detail.
