Is there any way to filter planning boards (not just group) in the latest release?
For example, I would like to filter the incident planning board to a particular resource and then group by the status? Or all open incidents grouped by release, etc, etc.
Ideally, whatever I have filtered in my detail view(s), would be reflected in my planning board. It seems as of now, the filters and groupings are reset each time I go into the planning board (on 5.4.0.4). We have lots of data in our projects and right now the planning board isn't usable because there is too much scrolling/data displayed to use it like a true kanban board.
This is especially painful for developers that want to manage their own work in a planning board. There is just too much noise.
If you would like feedback/user input, I have experience with other tools that do this really well. I would be happy to help.

We have made a bunch of improvements to the planning boards since v5.4:
Plus we fixed some of the quirks with the display settings that prevented them from keeping their settings between views.
More filter options are coming in the future. In the meantime, we did also add a sortable view of the requirements and the requirements that lets you do more sorting and filtering than the hierarchical view:
