We're running SpiraTeam version 7.2 on prem and we have noticed on a few occasions now that when someone deletes folders, the test cases that sit within are no longer listed in the root folder.
The tests have not been deleted but the root shows as empty. The main window shows the folder view and lists how many tests are in each folder but this does not align to the total number of tests cases shown at the top of that UI element. For example the total number of test cases in folders is 184 but the UI says "Displaying 1 - 0 out of 748 test case(s) for this release." Root
We have found that if you manually select any of the Execution Status options and filter then the tests that match that status appear, although it shows all tests, including the ones in folders (which I get is expected). When hovering over the names of the test cases you can see that some are in folders and others just show the name, implying that they are in fact in the root folder.
Why are these test cases now hidden from the default view of the root? Is this a sign of database corruption, some other issue or is this now the expected behaviour?
I would log a support ticket with screenshots.
We will need more information to assist you on this.

Hi Moe,
I also have had people delete folders that have had test cases in them and these test cases 'disappear' from view.
We are running SpiraTeam v7.0.0 at the moment - but the I first noticed these test cases going 'missing' about 18 months ago, ie in previous versions of SpiraTeam
I have found 2 ways to find these Test Cases that no longer are displayed:
1. If you know the name of the test case (or part of it) you can search for it, once found file into a folder
2. Clone your product - I clone a product each year for a fresh test suite for our yearly upgrades. The test cases are displayed underneath the folder names in the Cloned product
Let me know if this helps
Cheers
Heath
