Resource planning

Hi there

We have set a project for our minor changes to the system. The changes are stored as requirements. The project has always exactly one release (e.g. Contingency XYZ 12.4 has the release R12.4). Now we would like manage our resources with SpiraTeam. The developers do not work 100% of their time for the project. One developer can only spend 20% for the project, another maybe 30% and so on.

How can we enter the available time per developer to receive an overview of his workload compared to his capacity?

The available effort per release is calculated as no. of days * working hours. I could not see that the amount of project members had any impact on the available effort. I would like to see the available effort per release and per person.

Would be great, if you could help me out.

Thank you very much.

Best regards,

Andreas

Hi Andreas

The system does not currently support partial allocations per project, i.e. it assumes that a developer is on the project and can work the full number of hours.

It's a feature we're planning on adding very soon.

Hi

Following on from this, can you suggest a good way to reflect the availability of Resources during a Project window?

Andreas writes: "I could not see that the amount of project members had any impact on the available effort."

I agree. You can set the Start and End Date of the Release, and it uses these to display an 'available resource' figure ... however it appears to have nothing to do with how 'available' the Resources
actually are (it's just #Workdays * #Resources)

Any guidance appreciated...

Andy
