Question about Build Number field

From what i gather from playing around the interface, and going thru all of the documentation, the Build Number field is not a field that cannot be edittable. It is a field that has to be entered in by a plugin for something like Jenkins.

Why is this field not editable? Why can't I use this field manually? Life would be so much better if i could.

Hi Tom

It was designed that way I'm afraid. We shall be adding support for additional build servers and you can always populate it directly through our web services API.

For manual build numbers, just hide the build field and then create a custom property instead.
