Enhancement Request: Rename menu item "Planning > Iterations"

Wednesday, September 10, 2014
This is minor enhancement request.  It is especially good for brand-new people who are trying to get used to SpiraTeam terminology and to navigating the user interface.

Currently, there is a menu item "Planning > Iterations".  However, that menu item does not take you to a list of Iterations.  So, that menu item is confusingly different from the menu items for "Requirements", "Releases", "Documents", etc.  If you want to see a simple list of Iterations, you instead need to go to the "Planning > Releases" page, where Iterations are listed underneath their parent Release.

To help prevent confusion, I propose that the menu item "Planning > Iterations" be renamed.  I suggest "Planning > Release Plans".

This name makes sense because when you go to the page you view its information in the context of a Release, not an Iteration.  And, the page's information is the plan for both the Release and for any Iterations that it may have, and the plan for the Release is first and foremost.

Incidentally, the help center page for this page talks about using this Iterations page for batch assignment items to a Release or Iteration.  However, we haven't found any functionality on the Iterations page for batch assignment like a button or drag-and-drop.

Hi Jon

This is also a good point. In v4.2 we have removed Planning > Iterations and consolidated its functionality with the Planning > Planning Board view.

The existing Planning > Iterations screen has the ability to drag and drop the items into a release/iteration (you drag and drop the icon), however this has also been overhauled in v4.2.
