How to generate new defects automatically during the test runs?

Hi,  we're using SpiraTest v4.0 and have Test Sets specified as being “Automated” test runs.

Is it possible that recorded failures of test cases  can automatically result in the creation of a new incident?

That is if the failure of test case is detected during the execution of a test run, a new incident is created automatically and it is linked to the test run in question.

If yes, how can it be achieved?  Thank you.

No I'm afraid not for automated test runs by default.

You can create them using the SOAP or REST APIs explicitly during your automated tests if you need.

Hi Adam,  thanks for the reply.   I am asking this question is becasue I read both SpiraTest Overview Presentation (page 17, titled Introduction to QA using SpiraTest (5) and stated "If the defect is detected during the execution of a test run, the test executor has the option of automatically creating a new incident that is linked to the test run in question" ) and SpiraTest User Manual Version 4.1(page 78, see below image).  So this is different from my question?  Or "the optionally choose" means using the API?  Thank you.
