Blocking and unblocking test cases does not block or unblock related requirements

Issue 1:
At the tests list page I can select multiple tests and in "Edit" menu select "Block Test Cases" to block them. After this the test status is changed to "Blocked", but at the form "Requirements" all related requirements remain in the status "Not Run". At the form "Project Home" at the widget "Test Execution Status" I see that the number of tests in the status "Blocked" has increased, and in the status of "Not Run" decreased. But at the widget "Requirements Coverage" there is no requirement in the status "Blocked".

Issue 2:
If after test case execution was choosen the "Blocked" status, then the related requirement also changes the status to "Blocked". But when I unlock the test case via the menu "Edit" by clicking "Unblock Test Cases", then the test status will change to "Not Run", but the status of the requirements will be "Blocked".

Why in the "Edit" menu operations "Block Test Cases" and "Unblock Test Cases" do not change the status of requirements associated with scenarios?

I have SpiraTest v4.0 (016)

Hi Alexey

The Tools > Block and Unblock operations are designed to temporarily block test cases so that testers know that they are not available for testing (and when they are available again). Unlike actually running the test cases and passing/failing/blocking them, no test run is recorded and other summary metrics (such as requirements test coverage) are not updated. This is by design.

Hi Jim,

Thank you for reply, But I think, that my case #2 - is defect. When all test cases are unblocked, but the requirements remain blocked - this contradiction in the system.

And both cases for our company is not convenient, because we track daily progress on the verification of requirements, not test cases. Blocked requirements have to be considered by hand.

Hope you ever decide to fix it.

Regards
Alexey
