Does spiraplan have a way to manage projects vs products? In my case a project might involve multiple products and I would like to track the overall project progress which might involve requirements and tasks in multiple products.
Hi Gabe
Probably the best way would be to use Programs (which contain products), that will let you track %complete, progress and other metrics across the products.
Also in our latest release of SpiraPlan, you can have custom properties defined on the products (in the programs) themselves: https://www.inflectra.com/Ideas/Entry/spotlight-spiraplan-72-project-portfolio-managent-1393.aspx

Yes—this is a common need, and in tools like SpiraPlan the key idea is to use projects and portfolios together rather than forcing everything into a single product structure.
Typically, each product can hold its own requirements, tasks, and releases, while a higher-level project or portfolio view is used to track overall progress across multiple products. That way you can still report on unified milestones, risks, and progress without losing the separation of work inside each product.
If the UI feels cluttered when mapping across multiple products, sometimes teams also clean up shared dashboards or screenshots for reporting using tools like sticker remover to keep visuals focused on what matters
