"print items" cannot use a configureable report template

in the test case list, the item "print items" uses the predefined test case detailed report template. In the configuration, this template cannot be changed and the user wanting to print the test cases cannot configure the sections on this report.
So the user always ends up with the full report where 50% is not interesting information.

is it possible to either
- give the ability to the user to deselect some sections (change history, documents etc)
- give the ability to the user to select another report template.

Unfortunately this is not possible from the Print tool button.

You can however achieve the same thing by going to Reports and running the appropriate report (e.g. Test Case Detailed) and filtering by the ID of the item.

Hi Adam, unfortunately we are talking about multiple test cases, and the ID field in the reporting only gives space for 2 IDs.
So I cannot use that.

can an improvement be considered to make this configurable?

Hi Filip,

If you haven't already, I recommend that you update to SpiraTeam 4.2. It no longer has the limitation that you mentioned on the number of IDs that can be entered.

I am trying to create one of the test case reports but by filtering onto a tase case ID.

However whenever i put the test case ID the result is always the same and that is that ALL test cases are shown in the report.

Is there anything else I need to be aware when using the ID field filter?

Hi Martin,

To filter test case reports by ID, just type the test case numbers separated by commas.
Example:  5, 21, 28, 43
Do not precede the numbers with "TC".

If it still is not working for you, could you please log a Help Desk ticket? Make sure to include your SpiraTeam version number and a screenshot of your report configuration.
