Any fine tuning to be done in Server or Database configurations to improve the performance

We are entering one project data in SpiraTest tool with only one user.

Response of the tool seems to be slow. If the number of users are increased, I am expecting further drop in performance.

Any fine tuning to be done in Server or Database configurations to improve the performance?
