Hello.
I would like to upgrade SpiraTeam from vs 5.4.0.1 to 7.1. By following instructions at https://spiradoc.inflectra.com/Spira-Administration-Guide/Installing-SpiraPlan/ I read: "You can upgrade any SpiraPlan version that is 5.4.0.4 or newer using our v6 installer (for instance you can upgrade from 5.4.0.4 to 6.10, or from 6.9.0.1 to 6.10 using the exact same installer exe)."
First of all, the manual always talks about SpiraPlan (I found nothing about SpiraTest or SpiraTeam): I supposed it is valid fora all Spira products. Then it talks about upgrading from 5.4.0.4, to vs 6. No mention about who has got a previous vs, no mention about upgrading to vs 7.
So: what should I do in order to upgrade SpiraTeam from 5.4.0.1 to 7.1? Should I run Spira-v7.1.0.0.exe or something else is needed?
Thanks.
Daniele
Hi Daniele
Thanks for checking. The short answer is - yes you just download and run the v7.1 installer and you'll be fine.
SpiraPlan = SpiraTeam = SpiraTest for installation purposes (same product, different features is all).
You should do a full backup first and run some of these KBs first since it's quite an old version you have:

Thank you, David.
Just one clarification request about backup: should I do a full backup of the database or should I use 'Project Backup and Migration' application for the needed projects? I suppose the entire DB backup, since, as stated in the documentation, I couldn't restore my projects post SpiraTeam upgrade.
Thanks,
