Hello,
Is there a way to configure a new role in SpiraTeam that has the access rights to create new projects within a specific program only? Currently only system admins can create projects, but I don't want to provide that role since that would open up the whole SpiraTeam instead of only the program that is needed. Basically looking for an extended version of the Program Owner role, with the addition of Creating projects within the program.
Thanks in advance.
Unfortunately, without System Admin permissions there is no way to create products even with a Program Owner permissions.
Some aspects of a program can be managed in the program section of administration by Program Administrator, however the System section of Admin menu is only available for System Administrators.https://spiradoc.inflectra.com/Spira-Administration-Guide/System-Administration/#types-of-administrator

SpiraTeam only allows system administrators to create new projects, even within specific programs—this can't be delegated to custom roles like Program Owner. There's no built-in way to grant project creation rights at the program level. As a workaround, you could use API automation or request-based workflows, but native role-based permissions don’t support this yet.
In SpiraTeam, configuring custom roles with specific access rights can help manage permissions effectively. How will you determine which users need this new role? Will there be a review process for assigning roles?
