Tester Productivity

Hi,

Has anyone created a Tester Productivity Report? I'm looking to track the testers activity in SpiraPlan daily. I can see activity in the Product Association page but would like the ability to be able to generate a report for management.

Thanks

Gloria

Hello,

Have you checked existing standard reports in Spira Report center?
https://spiradoc.inflectra.com/Spira-User-Manual/Reports-Center/
Also, you get get a number of widgets on MyPage: https://spiradoc.inflectra.com/Spira-User-Manual/User-Product-Management/#my-page
Or check the items available at https://spiradoc.inflectra.com/Spira-Administration-Guide/Product-Home/

Here is our list of existing knowledge base articles to create many different custom reports, that are already in ready-to-use condition.

Please let us know if that helped.

Here's two sample reports from the Knowledge base:

Thanks David,

I do have those. I was looking more on actual Tester and not so much of the test case/test run.  For example when I look at the Product History Changes of a tester, I am only seeing like 3 hours of activity based on the Change ID.  I need to be able to show that Tester A logged in at 8:00 and was testing until 2:00 lets say.

I've played around with a few of the custom reports but haven't quite found what I was looking for.

Gloria

Hi Victoria,

I am aware of all of these but it's not what I am looking for. I'm looking for actual Tester activity.

Thanks

Gloria

Hi Gloria

The system will only track their activity automatically on the test runs associated with the test cases.

If they are logged in and don't change things, then it won't show up in the history log.

We do have time tracking features more generally: https://spiradoc.inflectra.com/Spira-User-Manual/Timesheets/

Hi Gloria,

SpiraPlan doesn’t really include a dedicated out-of-the-box “Tester Productivity” report, but you can get close using a combination of custom reports + audit/activity data.

A few practical options that usually work:

  • Use the Data Views / Custom Reports to pull Test Case executions by user and date

  • Look at Test Run / Test Set execution history filtered by tester and time range

  • If you need daily management reporting, you can export that data and build a simple dashboard in Excel or Power BI

If your goal is ongoing visibility, it might also be worth setting up a scheduled report or API-based extraction so you don’t have to manually check the Product Association page every day.

It’s a bit like ai расширение—you’re taking the built-in tracking data and expanding it into something more structured and useful for decision-making, rather than just viewing raw activity logs.

Hi Gloria,

SpiraPlan doesn’t have a built-in “Tester Productivity” report, but you can build something quite close using custom reports or data views based on test runs and user activity.

You can track:

  • Test executions per tester per day

  • Test sets completed vs assigned

  • Execution status trends over time

Then export or visualize it in a dashboard tool if management needs a cleaner overview.

It’s a bit like коллаж из 4 фото you take different pieces of tester activity data and combine them into one clear picture that actually shows performance in a meaningful way.
