Bulk edit of test cases in folders in SpiraTest v5

Hi,

I'm new to SpiraTest and have just imported over 1500 test cases with the Excel import/export tool into a structured folder hierarchy. These have all imported as Functional tests.  I have about 700 tests that need to be set to a different test type

Back when test cases were indented, there would have been a way to use the bulk edit to change tests throughout the hierarchy.  Now that they are in folders, and sub folders, the tests aren't all viewable throughout the hierarchy at the same time (or at least I can't find a way).

So, in SpiraTest v5, what is the simplest way I can quickly change a few hundred test cases in multiple sub-folders of a parent folder at the root level?

Thanks

Hi Dave

The simplest solution is to select the ROOT folder, then filter by the old value of the Test Type, that finds all the matches across all the folders.

Then click on the 'select all' checkbox, choose the Bulk Edit option. Select the new value, then click the fill down icon to propagate the change to all the items and then click Save to commit the changes.

Thanks Jim,

All the tests, the ones I want to change and the ones I don't, are all currently the same Test Type.  While your suggestion will allow me to see all the tests out of their folder hierarchy, I think I'd I'll still have to manually seek out and tick 700+ test cases, so it doesn't reeeeeeally save me much. Thanks for trying though.

Anyone have any other suggestions?

Ideally all the default fields would have been in the import/export tool so I could have set them before exporting the data into Spira.
