Department information for incident's owners

Hello all,

I need to include the User Department information for incident's owners, because we have several development groups for thems, and we need to track where they are asigned.

Could you please tell me how can I do that?

Unfortunately we display the Department field currently in the owner field on the various artifact list pages.

So, I must to create "virtual" users like departments in order to asign incidents to that owners, is this correct?

I don't understand what is meant by "display the Department field currently in the owner field on the various artifact list pages". I added a value in the Department field on a specific user and do not see the department name next to their name in the list view or owner field.
