JMeter Plug-In Released for Spira RemoteLaunch

We have just released a free plugin for the open source Apache JMeter load / performance testing system. This allows SpiraTest or SpiraTeam in conjunction with RemoteLaunch to manage the scheduling, execution and reporting of JMeter automated load tests.

Apache JMeter is open source software, a 100% pure Java desktop application designed to load test functional behavior and measure performance. It was originally designed for testing Web Applications but has since expanded to other test functions.

Apache JMeter may be used to test performance both on static and dynamic resources (files, Servlets, Perl scripts, Java Objects, Data Bases and Queries, FTP Servers and more). It can be used to simulate a heavy load on a server, network or object to test its strength or to analyze overall performance under different load types. You can use it to make a graphical analysis of performance or to test your server/script/object behavior under heavy concurrent load.

Using JMeter in conjunction with SpiraTest and RemoteLaunch allows you to create test sets of JMeter tests and be able to schedule them for execution across a global test lab.

Once executed, all the test results are collated by RemoteLaunch and sent back to SpiraTest, which acts as a central repository for your automated load and performance testing activities.

SpiraTest® is a powerful Quality Assurance and Project Management solution that manages a software project’s requirements, scope, use-cases, tests, releases and bugs and issues in one environment, with complete requirements traceability throughout. Customers can track every bug or issue back to the test case and test step that being executed, and from there back to the underlying requirement needing fulfillment.
