New Version of SpiraTest™ Released That Accelerates Requirements and Quality Management Processes

9-Aug-2007 by Inflectra Press Release

(Inflectra Corporation, Silver Spring, MD) today announced that it has released version 1.3 of its powerful Quality Assurance and Project Management software that helps organizations improve the management of their mission critical software projects. In response to an overwhelming customer response, this version of SpiraTest adds significant new capabilities in the areas of customization and release tracking, whilst remaining the most affordable solution on the market.

Building upon the success of the powerful SpiraTestTM platform, this version adds significant features to enhance and streamline a customer’s Quality Assurance and Requirements Management processes. This version enables customers to define custom properties for all the key artifacts in the system (Requirements, Test Cases, Releases and Incidents), associate Test Cases and Requirements with specific Releases and subsequently track the resolution and verification of defects by Release. This allows complete reporting on the quality of a project on a per-release basis in real-time, which strongly differentiates the product from other tools on the market today.

SpiraTestTM is a powerful Quality Assurance and Project Management solution that manages a software project’s requirements, scope, use-cases, tests, releases and bugs and issues in one environment, with complete requirements traceability throughout. Customers can track every bug or issue back to the test case and test step that being executed, and from there back to the underlying requirement needing fulfillment.

For the project manager, it provides the ability to create, edit, and delete your project's requirements in a hierarchical organization that resembles a typical scope matrix. Each of the requirements is mapped to one or more test cases that can be used to validate that your functionality works as expected.

For the software tester, SpiraTest provides the ability to execute groups of test cases along with their test steps so that the testers can follow the instructions and determine if the system being tested behaves as expected. Any deviations from expected behavior can then be recorded as defects and managed in the defect tracking module.

For the business executive, SpiraTest has personalized dashboards of key project information and an integrated reports center. All of the information needed to see the health of the project requirements coverage, test case execution, issue summaries, and bug counts are available on a single page.
