The growth of technology in the Financial world has been astounding with the introduction of cryptocurrencies, newer payment protocols, the use of big data and AI, and the transfer of money across international borders. Growth has been so rapid and profound that fintech became its own industry sector, with an estimated market worth of $26.5 trillion by 2022. Yet, with the regulations and governance to control financial malpractices in the global arena, there is also an intense focus on risk management practices with a particular emphasis on data security and compliance with Government regulations. This panel will discuss global financial governance, compliance challenges, emerging technologies and threats, and broader issues of access to fintech globally.

Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) is a particular form of Risk Management within the manufacturing, automation, and related industries where the ability to detect risk events is as important as assessing and resolving the risk. The panel will focus on the FMEA and risk management in today’s products, projects, and processes and share good practices and lessons learned.

Dr. Sriram Rajagopalan is a project management guru with extensive software development and project management experience in many industries. He won prestigious recognition from PMI with the Eric Jennet project management excellence award in 2017. He holds a BE in Electronics and Communication Engineering from the University of Madras in India, an MS in Computer Engineering from Wayne State University, and an MBA in Management from Concordia University. His Ph.D. was in Organization and Management from Capella University. Dr. Rajagopalan possesses many professional certifications in PfMP, PgMP, PMP, PMI-ACP, PMI-SP, PMI-RMP, CSP, CSPO, CSD, CSM, ACC, IT Project+, Six Sigma, SCM, SCPO, SCD, SAMC, SCT, and CSOX.
Mani Gunasekaran is a pragmatic and passionate technology executive leading the strategy and execution of digital transformation. He has 20+ years of real life experience in implementing packaged solutions, building custom software and integrating systems in the distribution, retail and supply chain space. His competencies include: delivering critical decision-making and exceptional communication skills dedicated to creating value and streamlining processes to delight customer; leading high-performing teams by instilling a culture focused on civility, trust, and accountability; building functional, no-frills, cost-effective and simple solutions to business problems.
Balazs Sarkany built his own software development and distribution company servicing large insurance corporations' digital needs. With a rich experience in commercial insurance and a passion for providing solutions to that industry, he also experiments with the latest trends using artificial intelligence and automation in the global technology sector. Demonstrating care for the larger society, Balazs took on a new industry’s challenge in the clean rare earth metals production space where he is collaborating with an MIT startup to build out the business development department & structure.
