The Testing Talks Conference in Sydney recently brought together 450 software and systems quality engineers to share what's real versus what's hype in an AI-driven world. As a Platinum partner, Inflectra was on the ground, connecting with this focused and energetic community. The key message resonating throughout the conference was clear: while technology evolves at a rapid pace, our core mission to solve problems and deliver quality remains constant.
We've compiled our key takeaways and insights from the event—read on to discover the conversations, connections, and ideas that will shape the future of QA.
Conversations with the Community
Our presence at the Testing Talks booth was a hub of lively discussions about the challenges and opportunities facing customers, partners, and industry peers. Unsurprisingly, a central topic this year was the impact of AI on the industry. It was our first year showcasing our new inflectra.ai solution, Inflectra’s embedded Generative AI engine, at the event, and the response was overwhelmingly positive.
We fielded many questions about how we're integrating Generative AI into our tools like SpiraPlan to keep up with modern demands. The conversations also naturally turned to the critical topic of security and trust. We were proud to explain that our inflectra.ai solution is built on a foundation of security and transparency:
-
Hosted in secure, regional AWS zones to ensure data residency compliance.
-
Powered by Amazon Bedrock and built upon Inflectra’s own Responsible AI policy.
-
Enabled only with double opt-in controls at both the system and project levels.
-
Fully transparent, auditable, and completely under your control.
Beyond our AI-focused tools, we also saw a significant increase in interest in our test automation platform, Rapise, compared to previous years. Attendees were particularly interested in how we can help them better integrate risk management into their entire SDLC, highlighting the growing need for a holistic approach to quality. We also had the opportunity to connect with several valued regional partners, including DevOps1, Planit, and Net Fusion Technology (NFT), reinforcing our collaborative approach to serving the Australian market.
Adam Sandman's Talk on the Evolving QA Landscape
A major highlight of the day was Inflectra’s Founder and CEO Adam Sandman's talk, where he drew on his extensive global experience to unpack how AI-powered testing is fundamentally reshaping the QA landscape. Through real-world examples, he showcased how teams can accelerate high-volume test execution, improve efficiency, and cut costs, all without compromising on quality.
Adam’s talk distilled the changing face of our industry into a few thought-provoking takeaways:
-
He argued that "agile is dead, long live agility."
-
In the age of non-deterministic AI, failures are no longer bugs but risks.
-
When a failure is found, the focus shifts from fixing the code to correcting the requirement, as agentic AI can simply regenerate the code.
-
The role of "tester" will give way to "Quality, Safety, and Risk engineers."
-
He encouraged the audience to be curious and experiment with agentic AI tools like Claude and Kiro.
-
The ultimate conclusion: code is ephemeral, and requirements are the new currency.
Another Year in the Books
We are grateful to the organizers of Testing Talks for bringing together such a focused, energetic, and engaged crowd year after year. It’s always a pleasure to share a day with the Australian testing community to swap ideas, learn, and “nerd out” about all things testing, QA, and AI, and our team is looking forward to exploring how we can incorporate some of these ideas for future tool development and strategy.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth and attended Adam’s talk. We look forward to seeing you all next year at Testing Talks 2026!
