In the news announcement for our recent release of Rapise 8.6, in addition to the headline news that Inflectra.ai is now available in Rapise, there was also another AI announcement which is equally exciting. We have added an MCP Server to Rapise, to complement the one we already have in Spira. In this article we explain why this is important, and how you can use it for a couple of common use cases.

Connecting Specs in Amazon Kiro to Rapise

As we have seen in our whitepaper, it is very easy to create a product spec in Amazon Kiro using Spira's MCP server. As part of spec-based development, the MCP Server will allow Kiro to download all of the requirements, test cases, tasks and risks, and use them to create the four different spec files need to build the target application:

  • requirements.md
  • tasks.md
  • tests.md
  • design.md

However with our new Rapise MCP server, we can go one step further:

Integrating Rapise with Kiro using MCP

With just a few sentences, Kiro can automatically import the contents of the tests.md file into Rapise as AI command test instructions in the RVL worksheet. They are now ready to be executed using Inflectra.ai.

Downloading Test Cases from Microsoft Azure DevOps into Rapise

We have had several customers request the ability to download test cases and manual tests from Microsoft Azure DevOps into Rapise, similar to how you can seamlessly download Spira manual test cases into Rapise. By connecting an MCP Client such as CLINE (running in VS Code) or Cursor, you can quickly retrieve all the test cases from an Azure Test Plans project, using the ADO MCP Server, and import them into Rapise using its MCP Server.

Connecting Rapise to ADO with MCP

The prompt is relatively simple, just enter something like:

I want you to import all the test cases with steps from [Azure DevOps URL] into Rapise group [Rapise folder]

You can then sit back and have some coffee while the AI tools do all the hard work for you ;-)
