Here at Inflectra, we love making our customers lives easier—that’s why we integrate with so many other tools. We are excited to announce that a brand-new integration with ServiceNow has just been released and is available for download and cloud customers.

About ServiceNow

ServiceNow is a company that provides service management software as a service. It specializes in IT services management (ITSM), IT operations management (ITOM) and IT business management (ITBM). The ServiceNow platform can be used to manage IT infrastructure and a wide variety of other tasks. ServiceNow is primarily an ITSM tool that has been specifically designed for IT departments. However, ServiceNow is not just a simple Change Management system, it has a much broader functionality, corresponding to the different aspects defined the the Infrastructure IT Library (ITIL).

ServiceNow is typically used by mid-sized or large companies for managing their IT workflows, but it can be configured or customized to the individual business needs of different enterprises. ServiceNow is a cloud-based Software as a Service (SaaS) product, that in addition to its core ITSM functionality, has other modules, for instance, enterprise IT Operations Management (ITOM), IT Business Management (ITBM), Security, Customer Service, HR Service Management tools and a number of others.

Spira Integration with ServiceNow

Many of our customers have been looking for our SpiraTeam application lifecycle management (ALM) suite to integrate with ServiceNow to provide an end to end application and IT lifecycle capability.

Our new integration with ServiceNow will synchronize changes from different ServiceNow tables with Incidents and Requirements in our Spira platform (SpiraTest, SpiraTeam or SpiraPlan):

How Does it Work?

You can select a ServiceNow table to sync with Incidents and another ServiceNow table to sync with Requirements in Spira. To map to different projects in Spira, you will also need to designate a relevant field in each of the ServiceNow tables.

The ServiceNow Data Sync will sync name, status, priority/importance, description, owner, author, and any desired custom fields between the two systems.

New Incidents/Requirements created in Spira will be created in the appropriate ServiceNow table. In addition, new items created in the designated ServiceNow tables will be created in Spira and any changes after that will be synced with its counterpart in Spira.

With our new DataSync for ServiceNow, you can just worry about solving your issue and we’ll handle the rest!
